This is a basic foto tutorial, which presents the fundamental aspects but avoids getting into more detail than strictly necessary. What I would have liked to have at hand when I started with this.
It reaches a relatively advanced level (with sections about bokeh and microadjustment, and a whole chapter about video) without stopping much in the way, just presenting the concepts and showing a few examples.
It is thought for a beginner to read it twice: first to see all the concepts, then again to grasp them better and relate them with each other (I couldn't find a way to explain the first concepts without naming at least some of the ones that follow, or without having to come back to already-explained concepts later on). Also, throughout the tutorial, there are lots of links that may be interesting once you understand the basic concepts. And of course there's my section on equipment recommendations, with a lot more information that I hope you find useful too.
